We chose the lotus flower within our symbol because we believe it runs parallel with addiction and recovery. Its ability to survive in the dirtiest and harshest conditions and blossom into one of the most beautiful flowers known to man speaks volumes of its determination. It truly refuses to be defeated. It symbolizes spiritual enlightenment and rebirth, which is important as we continue on our own individual journey.
I am a woman with long term recovery that was given a chance to grow in recovery because people chose to take a chance on me. I've been gifted a beautiful son that has also taught me how to become a mother in recovery with on going support. The community here all loved me until I could love myself and I now get to show my love and appreciation by coming into this next step in my journey. I look forward to being able to assist other women trying to step into recovery with the additional support we offer.
